A bouncer at a Boston bar who's been charged with kicking, punching and choking patrons who had been asked to leave, sending two men and two women to the hospital, has been fired.
The owner of The Grand Canal said in a statement Thursday that Sidney Phillips was fired "after complete details" of the incident became known.
Owner Dave Murray says he was "distressed and saddened" by the allegations against the 31-year-old Phillips, who is free on bail after pleading not guilty to charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
Police say the assault at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday was captured on cellphone video.
It started when a group of about 10 people was asked to leave after inadvertently bumping a woman while taking a photo, sparking an argument.
